Job Description & Responsibilities

Celsee is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our innovative multidisciplinary engineering team. In this cross-functional role, you will participate in product development and transfer activities for complex systems and instruments. You will be responsible for the development, integration, and maintenance of software used in new and legacy product designs.

Core Responsibilties:

Use best software development practices to design and develop reliable and maintainable software and firmware for commercial products, manufacturing test systems, and in-house development tools.
Develop software requirements, architectures, and detailed designs, perform software configuration management, and build and release source code.
Implement software solutions and algorithms to enable graphical user interfaces, hardware interfaces, motion control, machine vision, data analysis and storage, and network interfaces and computing.
Develop and execute unit, integration, and system testing, investigate and resolve issues, and perform debugging.
Collaborate on designs and participate in cross-functional teams to support product development and troubleshooting.

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related discipline.

As well as:

• 3-7 years’ experience developing software/firmware, preferably in an FDA/ISO regulated environment.
• Strong coding skills in C/C++ and Python.
• Strong understanding of developing on a Linux/Unix based operating system.

Position Accountability/Scope:

Position reports to the Director of Engineering and works on all assigned tasks/projects that are within scope for the defined position.

Work Environment:

Most work is performed in an indoor office, engineering lab, and biochemistry wet lab environment. Minimal travel to local suppliers or consultants is required.

Physical Requirements:

Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing in a distributed version control system (preferably Git).
Experience with build servers and continuous integration.
Experience with basic computer communications (TCP/IP, RS232, RS-485, USB, CAN, SPI, I2C).
Experience with GUI software application development.
Experience with Jira or other project management and bug tracking software.
Exposure to motion control, machine vision, and eletromechanical device interfacing.
Exposure to AWS and Cloud/SaaS delivery.
Proven history of working on a team that has successfully prepared products for design transfer to contract manufacturers.
Demonstrated ability to accomplish goals while working across departments and teams.
