Celsee is seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to join our innovative multidisciplinary engineering team. In this cross-functional role, you will participate in product development and transfer activities for complex systems and instruments. You will be responsible for the development, integration, and maintenance of software and firmware used in new and legacy product designs.
❯ Use best software development practices to design and develop reliable and maintainable firmware for embedded systems used in commercial products and in-house diagnostic tools.
❯ Develop firmware requirements, architectures, and detailed designs, perform software configuration management and build and release source code.
❯ Implement embedded firmware solutions and algorithms to enable electromechanical system operations including feedback control and hardware and software interface communications.
❯ Develop and execute unit, integration, and system testing, investigate and resolve issues, and perform debugging.
❯ Design and perform experiments to validate novel microfluidic consumables and system performance according to the intended application.
❯ Collaborate on designs and participate in cross-functional teams to support product development and troubleshooting.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, electrical engineering, or related discipline.
As well as:
• 3+ years’ experience designing embedded system firmware for commercialized products.
• Strong coding skills in C/C++.
• Experience using Python a plus.
• Experience with microcontrollers using ARM based processors.
• Experience with real-time operating systems and an understanding of real-time issues.
• System level integration experience.
• Experience in writing unit and system level test software.
• Board bring up experience.
• Exposure to a variety of actuators and sensors and ability to assimilate corresponding datasheets.
• Experience with circuit design a plus.
• Experience with Jira or other project management and bug tracking software.
• Familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, current probes, and other lab equipment and tools
Position reports to the Director of Engineering and works on all assigned tasks/projects that are within scope for the defined position.
Most work is performed in an indoor office, engineering lab, and biochemistry wet lab environment. Minimal travel to local suppliers or consultants is required.
Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
